The College which is in the heart of Wellington will see Nuplace offer 20 two- and three-bedroom sustainable properties for private rent.

Nuplace which began offering great homes for private rent in locations across the borough back in 2015 is now set to deliver its twelfth development in the borough.

The College which is in the heart of Wellington will see Nuplace offer 20 two- and three-bedroom sustainable properties for private rent with residents expected to be able to reserve their new home from summer 2024.

All Nuplace homes in Wellington will come with solar panels and EV charging points and have been designed specifically to contribute towards the council’s commitment to tackle climate change to help tenants to reduce their fuel bills.

Wrekin Housing Group will also deliver a retirement living scheme comprising of 64 apartments and 10 bungalows at this site.

Around 1,300 residents are now believed to live in Nuplace homes across Telford and Wrekin. The Maher’s are one family who moved into Pool View back in 2016. Clare and Simon, and their teenage son Elliot were one of the very first residents to live in a Nuplace property.

Clare said: “It was perfect: it was a brand-new house in an ideal location and was really affordable. There are so many facilities as well including schools for Elliot, being close to green spaces like the Town Park and within walking distance of the Town Centre.
“Even the house itself has everything we could have asked for. It really ticks every box.”
But their current home came with a bit of a surprise. The family shared: “We originally moved into a different home on the estate but had expressed interest in a larger three bed property. After living there for four months, we had a call from the Nuplace team telling us a three-bed house had become available after the original tenancy fell through.
Clare added: “We jumped at the chance! We were so grateful that Nuplace remembered and got in touch straight away. We couldn’t imagine living anywhere else now.”
Councillor Richard Overton (Lab) cabinet member for homes and enforcement said: “It’s wonderful to hear stories like Clare’s about why people in the borough are choosing Nuplace. As a council we are committed to ensuring all residents have access to safe and appropriate housing and we are hearing more and more that people choose Nuplace due to the long-term security that we can offer as a council.

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Wrekin Housing Group at this latest development in Wellington. Together we will be bringing forward accommodation which will not only address the growing demand for quality rental homes, but also contribute to the overall enhancement of the local neighbourhood.”

Nuplace will release sales packs for ‘The College’ in Wellington later this summer which is when people will be able to reserve plots and find out more about the homes which will be being built.

Properties will be built by partner, Lovell Partnerships Ltd, with the first Nuplace homes being ready to move into from Autumn. If you would like to receive all of the latest Nuplace news, including details of new sites as they are confirmed sign up to Nuplace’s email list.
